Financial Inclusion and Compliance in South Georgia and South Sandwich Islands
The Government of South Georgia and South Sandwich Islands (GSGSSI) has published the fees and charges for the 2024-2025 austral summer season, which will take effect from July 1st, 2024. The increases in these charges are aimed at ensuring that the Government can continue to provide outstanding stewardship and implement its vision to protect, sustain, and inspire.
Customs Fees and Charges
All vessels and yachts visiting South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands are subject to customs fees and charges. These include:
- Customs Entry Declaration: £36.00
- Customs Exit Clearance: £36.00
- Custom Officer Visit Fee: £26.00 per hour (minimum charge of 2 hours, £52.00)
- Custom Officer Visit Fee outside normal working hours (08:00-16:30 South Georgia time): £42.00 per hour
Harbor Fees
Harbor fees differ depending on whether you are classified as a yacht or a vessel.
Yachts
- Yachts with a load line length of up to 24 meters pay £52.00
Vessels
- Vessels are charged according to their net tonnage and number of passengers
Visitor Fees
All visitors except for professional expedition staff are charged a visitor fee, which is determined by the duration of their visit.
- Visits up to three days: £146.00
- Visits more than three days: £146.00 plus £26.00 per started 24-hour period, up to a maximum of £250.00
Marriage Fees
The marriage fee is £416.00 and covers the administrative needs for your marriage and documents.
