Strengthening Financial Reporting and Compliance Systems

A leading humanitarian organization is seeking a highly qualified Financial Reporting and Compliance Officer to join its team in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the organization’s financial operations are fully compliant with local laws and regulations, as well as those of international donors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing Internal Controls: Implement internal controls to ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures
  • Conducting Regular Audits: Identify areas for improvement through regular audits and ensure corrective actions are taken
  • Training and Capacity Building: Provide training and capacity building to staff members on financial reporting and compliance issues
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions
  • Compliance Risk Management: Identify potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk, and develop corrective action plans
  • Donor Coordination: Coordinate with donors and other stakeholders to ensure compliance with their requirements

Requirements

  • Education: Degree in finance or a related field
  • Experience: At least three years of experience in administration, finance, or compliance
  • Language Skills: Excellent communication skills in French are essential, with English an advantage
  • Travel and Independence: Ability to work independently and travel regularly to field sites
