FSA Warns Public of Clone Website and Forged Securities License
The Financial Services Authority (FSA) of Seychelles has issued a warning to the public about a fraudulent website that is cloning its official site. The cloned website, fsaseychelles.com, is displaying a forged securities dealer license for MEXC Global trading Limited with license number HM995.
Cloned Website Not Operated by FSA
The FSA wishes to advise that the website is not operated by the authority and is not linked to it in any capacity. The authority has also noted that the website is displaying a forged securities dealer license on its page https://www.fsaseychelles.com/163/, falsely portraying MEXC Global trading Limited as having been granted a securities dealer license.
Public Warning
Members of the public are advised that:
- The license certificate being displayed has been forged
- MEXC Global trading Limited is not authorized to offer securities business in or from Seychelles
- Investors and members of the public should conduct adequate research on an entity, service provider(s), and representative prior to engaging in any business activities and/or performing any transactions involving money exchanges or exchanges of personal details
FSA Reminders
The FSA publishes a list of licensed and regulated entities on its official website, which can be viewed at https://fsaseychelles.sc. The authority reminds the public that:
- It is not responsible for any losses incurred as a result of persons continuing to engage with or maintain client relationships with the cloned website or any services provided by it
- The public should verify the authenticity of any entity or service provider before engaging in any business activities
Previous Warnings Issued
This is the latest in a series of warnings issued by the FSA about fraudulent websites and entities operating in the financial sector. Last month, the authority warned investors about Trade Propel, a company claiming to be authorized and regulated by the Seychelles Financial Services Authority under license number DC0012. However, the entity was found to be not known, not hold a valid license, and not regulated by the FSA.
The FSA has also issued warnings about other fraudulent websites, including:
- cmtradingfx.com/home/index
- bullcopytrade.com
