GAMBIA PUBLIC PROCUREMENT AUTHORITY SEEKS COMPLIANCE OFFICER
The Gambia Public Procurement Authority (GPPA) is seeking a highly qualified and experienced professional to fill the position of Assistant Compliance Officer. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that procurement practices in the country are compliant with national and international regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Job Description
- Attend to and treat monthly reports/returns, generating reports and responses as required
- Analyze monthly reports, identifying deviations or violations and providing recommendations for improvement
- Update statistics on procurement trends and provide quarterly submissions on procurement plans and implementation structures
- Participate in compliance review/audit exercises, preparing and collating documents and evidence as necessary
- Write compliance reports and defend them to senior management teams or committees
- Represent the Authority at national assembly committees and undertake entry and exit meetings
Minimum Qualifications and Experience
- Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Procurement, Business Administration, Economics, Law, Engineering, or any Social Sciences with 7 years of post-qualification work experience
- Alternatively, CIPS Level 6 (Graduate Diploma/MCIPS) with 9 years of post-qualification work experience
- Master’s Degree in a procurement-related field with 3 years’ post-qualification work experience
Required Skills and Competencies
- Knowledge: Good understanding and knowledge of Financial Regulations; In-depth knowledge and mastery of the Country Procurement System
- Skills:
- Auditing and report writing skills
- High-level computer literacy
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Strong analytical and time management skills
- Team player with ability to work independently
Salary and Benefits
The salary for this position will be paid in accordance with grade IV.A.1 of the Pay Scale of the Authority.
