Governance and Compliance Officer Role at Parliament of the Republic of Fiji

The Parliament of the Republic of Fiji is seeking a highly skilled Governance and Compliance Officer to strengthen its governance structure. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in developing and reviewing institutional plans, corporate policies, and guidelines.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and review institutional plans, corporate policies, and guidelines
  • Provide secretariat support to various planning and governance forums
  • Ensure high-quality policy briefs are prepared for policy development and reviews
  • Maintain an effective records management system on policies and plans
  • Coordinate and implement monitoring and evaluation systems
  • Develop quarterly reports on the overall performance of the Parliament

Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree in commerce, business, management, public administration or a relevant discipline from a recognized institution
  • More than three years’ experience in corporate services with expertise in:
    • Strategic planning
    • Monitoring and evaluation
    • Policy-level analysis
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team
  • Demonstrate initiative to develop innovative processes and systems

The successful candidate will report to the Manager, Monitoring, Evaluation and Compliance and liaise with internal stakeholders including:

  • Secretary-General to Parliament
  • Deputy Secretary-General
  • Head of Corporate Services
  • Head of Legislative Services
  • Managers
  • Secretariat Staff

External stakeholders include other ministries and departments and other parliaments.

Salary and Benefits

The job is classified under Band H with a salary range of $34,760.31 to $44,564.50 per annum. The duty station will be at the Parliament Complex in Government Buildings, Suva. Applications close on [insert date].
