Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting compliance reviews, ensuring accuracy and completeness of documentation, and maintaining familiarity with relevant policies and procedures. Primary duties and responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining knowledge of BVI HSA’s policies and procedures governing admissions, billing, and collections
  • Reviewing invoices held in draft and determining whether status must be changed and the appropriate treatment
  • Ensuring that pending or denied insurance claims are handled in a timely manner
  • Obtaining pre-authorizations in accordance with the National Health Insurance (NHI) policy for medical services
  • Maintaining patient demographics and updating records accurately
  • Adhering to cash collection, deposit, and reporting workflows
  • Following admitting and pre-registration guidelines

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • An Associate’s degree in a healthcare-related discipline
  • Knowledge of medical coding and billing
  • At least two years of progressive experience in hospital admissions, medical coding, and billing
  • Working towards certification in Medical Coding and Billing is preferred

Minimum requirements for the position include:

  • Education: Associate’s degree in a healthcare-related discipline
  • Experience: Minimum of two (2) years progressive experience in hospital admissions, medical coding, and billing
  • Licenses and registrations: Working towards certification in Medical Coding and Billing
  • Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills
    • Good organizational and analytical skills
    • Knowledge of computer applications including word processing and spreadsheets
    • Ability to meet assigned deadlines

Salary and Application

The salary range for the position is $32,308.00 - $41,998.00 per annum, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
