Financial Crimes Investigation Agencies in Indonesia Step Up Efforts to Maintain Financial System Stability

The Indonesian Financial Services Authority (OJK) has made significant progress in its investigative duties, completing probes into 20 financial sector cases in 2022. Public Prosecutors have declared that the case files are complete, with suspects and evidence referred to the Prosecutor’s Office.

Collaboration with Law Enforcement Agencies


The OJK investigators have been working closely with law enforcement agencies and institutions, including:

  • Indonesian National Police (POLRI)
  • Attorney General’s Office
  • Financial Intelligence Unit (PPATK)
  • Deposit Insurance Corporation (LPS)

Education Sessions on Crime Prevention


In 2022, the OJK investigators also delivered education sessions on crime prevention in the financial services sector to various regional authorities, including:

  • Police Department of Central Sulawesi Province
  • East Java Province
  • Yogyakarta Province

Recognition and Awards


The agency’s investigative work was recently recognized as Best Investigator by the Criminal Investigative Department of the Indonesian National Police for its achievements in enforcing laws in the financial services sector in 2022. OJK was also named the best institution in completing investigations under the category of Civil Servant Investigators in Ministries/Agencies.

Maintaining Financial System Stability


The consolidation and law enforcement measures taken by the OJK have given it optimism that the stability of the financial system can be maintained, particularly in anticipation of increased external risks and to support national economic recovery.
