Tehran, May 7th - Strengthening International Cooperation Against Financial Crimes

The head of Iran’s Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU) recently met with the country representative of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) to discuss strategies for combating money laundering and financing of terrorism. This meeting was part of the UNODC Country Partnership Programme in Islamic Republic of Iran, which spans from 2023 to 2026.

During the meeting, both parties reviewed recent global developments in the fight against transnational organized crime, drug trafficking, and proceeds of crime. They emphasized the need for intensified collaborations and agreed to boost the institutional capacities of government bodies and strengthen regional and international cooperation.
