• Counterfeit Cigarettes Interception in Peshawar: The Directorate I&I-IR in Peshawar intercepted a truck carrying 39 cartons of non-duty paid filter rods, which could produce 9,126,000 sticks of cigarettes. An equal amount of counterfeit cigarettes was also seized from two passenger vehicles in Peshawar.
• Tax Evasion by PVC Manufacturers in Multan: Two PVC manufacturers were raided by the Directorate I&I-IR Multan and were found to have concealed production or issued flying invoices to evade taxes. A seizure of 200,000 counterfeit/non-duty paid cigarettes and their detainment under the Sales Tax Act and Federal Excise Rules was executed.
