Condemning Israel’s Continued Aggression Against Palestinians
Our country has issued a strongly worded statement condemning Israel’s continued aggression against Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank. The statement highlights the dire situation faced by the Palestinian people, with devastating consequences for civilians.
Tragic Toll of the Conflict
According to a recent report, the number of deaths in Gaza has reached over 37,400, with more than 80,000 wounded, including:
- 72% women and children
- Thousands of innocent lives lost or irreparably harmed
The report also cites war crimes and crimes against humanity committed by Israeli forces against Palestinian civilians.
War Crimes and Crimes Against Humanity
The Commission found that crimes were committed on racial, national, ethnic, cultural, religious, and gender grounds. The report calls for international action to hold those responsible accountable.
“We are appalled by the sheer scale of destruction and suffering caused by Israel’s actions,” said our Foreign Minister. “The targeting of civilian infrastructure and civilians is unacceptable and a clear violation of international law.”
Detention and Displacement
The report reveals that over 9,000 Palestinians have been detained since October 7, with more than 3,700 still held in Israeli prisons, including:
- 640 children
- Widespread displacement, with over 1.7 million people forced to flee their homes
The Commission deemed this act a war crime and called for international action to address it.
Call to Action
Our country urges all states to take immediate action to:
- Stop the transfer of weapons to Israel
- Fully support and cooperate with the International Criminal Court’s investigation into these crimes
We also call on Israel to respect international law and the decisions of the United Nations Security Council and the International Court of Justice.
“We cannot stand idly by while a nation commits such heinous crimes against another,” said our Foreign Minister. “We demand that all states take immediate action to address this crisis and work towards a negotiated political solution that brings peace and justice to the region.”
Accountability, Reparations, and Humanitarian Aid
The report highlights the need for accountability, reparations, and humanitarian aid to be provided to the Palestinian people. Our country demands that Israel:
- Respect international law
- Provide reparations to those affected
- Grant immediate humanitarian aid to those in need
We will continue to work towards a peaceful resolution to this crisis, calling on all states to take immediate action to address it.
