According to Khaberni, the PSD aims to educate the public on how to protect their personal and banking information in an increasingly digital world.

The 10 Anti-Fraud Measures

The ten measures released by the PSD include:

  • Avoid Disclosing Personal or Banking Information: Refrain from sharing your personal or banking information with unauthorized individuals.
  • Be Cautious of Unreliable Sources: Be wary of advertisements for debt settlement or project funding from non-legitimate sources.
  • Verify Online Shopping Websites: Ensure the reliability and credibility of online shopping websites before making a purchase.
  • Don’t Engage with Unknown Individuals: Refrain from engaging with unknown individuals to settle bills or service fees.
  • Disregard and Delete Suspicious Messages: Disregard and delete text and email messages from unknown sources.
  • Avoid Assistance Requests from Strangers: Avoid assistance requests from strangers when using ATMs.

  • Use Random PIN Numbers: Use random and non-sequential PIN numbers for bank cards.
