St Kitts and Nevis Retailers Warned to Ensure Compliance with Labeling Regulations

The St Kitts and Nevis Bureau of Standards (SKNBS) has issued a reminder to all retailers in the country to ensure that goods displayed for sale are properly labeled with English, the official language.

Labeling Requirements

According to SRO 35 2023, Section 3.3, goods must be labeled with English as the primary language. Failure to comply with this requirement is considered a violation of the regulation and can result in penalties.

In addition to labeling requirements, retailers have also been warned against displaying labels with deceptive information, which contravenes Section 3.2 of the same regulation. The SKNBS emphasizes that regulations are law and must be followed by all retailers operating in the country.
