Financial Professionals in Monaco Must Comply with Confidentiality Training Requirements

In April 2018, Ministerial Order 2018-367 was published, requiring all financial professionals working in banking and financial institutions in Monaco to undergo confidentiality training. This training is organized by the AMAF (Monaco Association for Financial Activities) and the International University of Monaco (IUM).

Training Objectives

The first training focuses on:

  • Enhancing the quality and image of the financial sector
  • Emphasizing the importance of confidentiality compliance
  • Detailing the three main obligations
  • Presenting best practices

The second training reviews:

  • Professional secrecy
  • Confidentiality regime
  • Duty of discretion
  • Latest developments and regulations

Registration

Registration for the training is open to employees of financial institutions accredited by AMAF only. Registration can be done through the Digitevent platform, where individuals can purchase training tickets available in both French and English.

Important Notes

  • Ticket cancellations must be made at least 48 hours before the training.
  • Absent due to force majeure or illness (professional impediments do not fall under force majeure).
  • Alternatively, candidates can be replaced by another collaborator up until the last minute.

Projected Schedule

The projected schedule for confidentiality courses is from January 2024 to March 2024. Sessions are guaranteed to be held with a minimum of 15 participants, and in case of course cancellation, registration will automatically transfer to the next session according to the chosen language and type of training.
