The Monaco Police Department has reported a significant decline in financial crime statistics for 2023, bucking global trends and showcasing the principality’s commitment to maintaining its reputation as a safe and secure haven.

Effective Law Enforcement


Despite an alarming international environment and a busy event schedule, the department has managed to reduce court activity by a staggering 35% compared to the previous year. The number of letters rogatory filed with the Public Prosecution Department decreased by 17%, while international letters rogatory dropped by 34%.

Crime rates in Monaco also showed a positive trend, with the overall general crime rate rising slightly (0.9%) to 834 incidents. However, street crime - which includes petty theft and anti-social behavior - fell by an impressive 17% to 49 incidents.
