Montserrat Seeks Director for Financial Intelligence Unit

The Government of Montserrat is seeking a highly qualified candidate to fill the position of Director at its Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU). The successful applicant will lead the administration and management of the FIU, playing a crucial role in combating financial crimes such as money laundering, terrorist financing, and cybercrime.

Job Responsibilities


  • Provide strategic leadership and direction to the FIU, ensuring effective and efficient operations.
  • Receive, analyze, and disseminate information related to suspected proceeds of crime.
  • Conduct inquiries and investigations.
  • Develop policies and procedures to prevent financial crimes.
  • Manage a department and lead a team with experience in financial crime or financial intelligence-related work.

Requirements


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Law, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Significant experience at a senior management level in a legal, law enforcement, financial, or compliance field.
  • Proven abilities to manage a department and lead a team.
  • Sound knowledge of primary and secondary legislation and policies dealing with anti-money laundering, combating the financing of terrorism, and proliferation financing.

Desirable Qualifications


  • Experience working with regional and international treaties, agreements, and conventions in areas related to financial crime prevention.
  • Specialist advice and guidance to the Supervisory Board, The Governor, and the Government of Montserrat on strategies, policies, and the work of the FIU.
