Norway’s Financial Institutions Join Forces to Combat Rising Cybercrime Threats

In a bid to tackle the growing menace of cybercrime, Norway’s leading financial institutions have launched a new collaboration forum aimed at strengthening their defenses against theft, hacking, fraud, and other online threats.

The Nordic Financial CERT: A New Era in IT Security

The Nordic Financial CERT (Computer Emergency Response Team) has been established to pool resources and expertise among banks and financial institutions in the region. This initiative builds on the success of Norway’s FinansCERT platform and brings together major players such as:

• Sparebank 1
• Eika Group

A Safer Environment for Customers and Financial Institutions

By sharing data and best practices, the forum aims to create a safer environment for customers and financial institutions alike. According to Jim Ditmore, COO at Danske Bank:

Expanding on Success

FinansCERT, which was launched four years ago in Norway, has been hailed as a success story. Its expansion into the Nordic Financial CERT will enable banks to tap into the collective knowledge and expertise of the region’s financial sector.

Idar Kreutzer, CEO at Finance Norway, expressed enthusiasm for the new initiative:
