Medan, June 15, 2023 - The Indonesian Financial Services Authority (OJK) has marked a significant achievement in its efforts to combat financial crimes. As of June 2023, the agency has completed a total of 101 investigations into criminal cases within the financial services sector.

Breakdown of Completed Cases

  • 79 banking-related investigations
  • 17 related to non-banking financial institutions
  • 5 linked to the capital market

The impressive results have been attributed to the close collaboration between law enforcement agencies, including the Indonesian National Police, and OJK’s own investigative teams.

Enhancing Investigative Capabilities

To further strengthen its authority in conducting financial crime investigations, OJK has assigned:

  • A team of 10 police investigators to support its efforts
  • 5 Civil-Service Investigators (PPNS) to enhance its investigative capabilities
  • 5 attorneys/prosecutors to uphold the law and ensure a stable financial system

OJK’s outstanding performance has been recognized by:

  • The Indonesian National Police’s Criminal Investigation Department on November 24, 2022, when it awarded OJK as the Best Investigator for its enforcement of laws in the financial services sector
  • A ranking as the top-performing institution in completing case investigations among Civil-Service Investigators of Ministries/Agencies
