Papua New Guinea Cracks Down on Financial Crimes with Enhanced Police Training
Papua New Guinea’s Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary (RPNGC) is taking a bold step to combat financial crimes and corruption by providing specialist training to nearly 80 police officers nationwide. The Fraud Investigations and Prosecutions course, conducted by the RPNGC Fraud and Anti-Corruption Directorate, aims to strengthen the capacity of officers to investigate and prosecute complex fraud and related matters in a coordinated manner.
Enhanced Police Training
The latest batch of 28 officers from the New Guinea Islands Region recently completed the training in Kokopo, East New Britain. This is the second group to undergo this training, following one conducted in March for 29 officers from the Southern Region in Port Moresby.

- Enhance effectiveness of investigations into fraud, corruption, and similar crimes
- Provide practical training on investigation planning and management, file preparation, and evidence
