Whistleblower Protection Policy

======================================================

At Mission to Haiti, we have a strict policy of protecting employees who report violations in good faith. We believe that transparency and accountability are essential for maintaining a healthy work environment, and this policy outlines our procedures for reporting and handling alleged violations.

Reporting Procedure

  • Employees are encouraged to share their questions, concerns, suggestions or complaints with their supervisor.
  • If an employee is not comfortable reporting to their supervisor, they can report directly to the Compliance Officer.
  • Reports of violations or suspected violations will be kept confidential to the extent possible.

Acting in Good Faith

  • Anyone filing a written complaint concerning a violation or suspected violation must act in good faith and have reasonable grounds for believing the information disclosed indicates a violation.
  • Any allegations that prove not to be substantiated and which prove to have been made maliciously or knowingly false will be viewed as a serious disciplinary offense and subject to discipline up to and including termination of employment and all relationship with Mission to Haiti.

Handling Reported Violations

  • The Compliance Officer will notify the person who submitted a complaint and acknowledge receipt of the reported violation or suspected violation.
  • All reports will be promptly investigated and appropriate corrective action taken if warranted by the investigation.
  • After the investigation is complete, a written report will be distributed to Board members, officers, employees, and given to the complainant.

Confidentiality

  • Reports of violations or suspected violations may be submitted on a confidential basis by the complainant.
  • Reports will be kept confidential to the extent possible, consistent with the need to conduct an adequate investigation.
