Key Responsibilities

  • Review the effectiveness of Country Office internal controls and consolidate input for the annual Executive Director Assurance.
  • Provide expert review of business processes to support development of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) where gaps exist, and review existing SOPs.
  • Embed risk assessment in planning and decision-making through monitoring of key risk appetite metrics and indicators, and regular updating of risk registers.
  • Provide specialized advice on risk and compliance issues, and maintain an effective internal control environment to support operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Advanced university degree in business/public administration, finance, accounting, international development, audit or other relevant field.
  • At least eight years of postgraduate experience in leading, undertaking, and/or contributing to risk management activities.
  • Fluency in English and intermediate knowledge of a second official UN language.

  • Has programme/project management experience and has led monitoring and reporting activities.
  • Conducted risk analysis and developed risk mitigation strategies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop solutions that address root causes of risk.
