Job Description

The Risk and Compliance Manager will support the Country Management Group (CMG) and Country Director (CD) by ensuring that risks are identified, assessed, and controlled effectively, and that the organization is in compliance with regulations not specific to a given function. This includes:

  • Conducting regular compliance checks
  • Reporting regularly to the CD and CMG on compliance issues
  • Leading the implementation of compliance improvement measures

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in a management role in compliance, auditing, or risk management functions, or senior management experience in the humanitarian sector. Fluency in English is required, with knowledge of Arabic being desirable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Country Office’s efforts to effectively manage risks and promote a risk management culture
  • Ensure compliance with regulations not specific to a given function, including:
    • Securing Supporting Documentation (SSD)
    • Counter Terrorism (COTER)
    • Sanctions
    • PSEA
    • Data Protection (DPR)
    • Legal
    • Code of Conduct
    • Complaints management
  • Identify high-risk areas/issues and conduct regular compliance checks
  • Report regularly to the CD and CMG on compliance issues and lead implementation of compliance improvement measures
  • Manage staff and resources within the R&C function
  • Monitor compliance with NRC’s policies and procedures
  • Contribute to the development of NRC’s RM framework by documenting lessons learned and best practices
