Risk and Compliance Manager

Job Description

ACTED is seeking a highly skilled Risk and Compliance Manager to join its team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the organization’s compliance with external audits, internal controls, and international best practices.

Key Responsibilities

External Audit Preparation

  • Assist in preparing implementing partners/country/area staff for external audits
  • Coordinate with external auditors to ensure a smooth audit process

Audit Coordination

  • Facilitate kick-off and close-out meetings with external auditors
  • Ensure that all necessary documentation is provided to the auditors

Audit Response

  • Draft ACTED Management responses to audit reports, ensuring compliance with donor guidelines
  • Update External Audit Recommendations follow-up (AUD-02) and implement recommendations from external audits

Risk and Compliance

  • Update internal procedures to reflect best practices and donor requirements
  • Conduct regular risk assessments to identify potential areas of non-compliance

Capacity Building and Training

  • Provide practical training on specific areas of ACTED procedures
  • Mentor Compliance staff in the country to ensure they are equipped to handle compliance issues

Lessons Learned

  • Contribute to proactive dissemination and use of knowledge gained through audit activities among international and national staff
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement changes as necessary

Process Improvement

  • Reinforce current procedures and quality of internal control based on international best practices, donors’ requirements, and results of internal & external audits

Requirements

Education

  • Postgraduate diploma in Audit, Finance, International Relations, Law, or related field

Experience

  • 1-2 years of previous work experience in audit (external and/or internal), finance, logistics, administration, or law

Skills

  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organizational terms, flexibility, dynamism, and autonomy
  • Proficient in English language with excellent communication and writing skills

Conditions

Salary and Benefits

  • Monthly salary between €1400-€1600 (before income tax) + living allowance of $300
  • Accommodation and food provided in ACTED guesthouse
  • Pension, health insurance, life insurance, and repatriation assistance (& unemployment insurance for EU citizens)
  • Flight tickets every 6 months & visa fees covered
  • Contribution to luggage transportation: up to 100 kgs
  • R&R every 3 months, flight tickets covered up to $500, and allowance of $200
  • Annual leave of 25-43 days per year
