Compliance Officer Role Available
The British Virgin Islands Health Services Authority (BVIHSA) is seeking a qualified and experienced Compliance Officer to join its team of healthcare professionals. As a key member of the organization’s management team, the successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of workers by minimizing hazardous conditions within the workplace.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing policies, procedures, and standards for occupational health and safety
- Conducting job hazard analyses to identify potential hazards and develop training programs to mitigate them
- Investigating accidents and incidents to determine causes and implement corrective actions
- Providing advice and guidance on compliance issues to management and staff
- Inspecting facilities and conducting regular safety audits to ensure compliance with regulations
- Developing and implementing procedures for the safe use and disposal of hazardous chemicals and biological materials
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, such as occupational health and safety or industrial hygiene
- Relevant certifications, including Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or ability to obtain within one year
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to communicate complex technical information effectively
