MALDIVES: HDFC Seeks Shariah Compliance Officer to Oversee Islamic Finance Operations

Job Overview

The Housing Development Finance Corporation (HDFC) Plc, the only specialized housing finance institution in Maldives, is seeking a dedicated Shariah Compliance Officer to support its AMNA Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that HDFC-Amna’s operations comply with Shariah values and ethical business practices.

Job Responsibilities

As a key member of the HDFC-Amna team, the Shariah Compliance Officer will perform the following duties:

Research Shariah aspects of each product before presenting it to the Shariah Committee
Formulate and recommend Shariah risk management policies
Coordinate and resolve non-compliant events
Conduct periodic reviews of Islamic financing facilities and documents
Prepare quarterly Sharia’h Compliance Reports
Assist in identifying training requirements for staff

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

A Bachelor’s degree in Shariah, Shariah & Law, Fiqh Muamalat, or Islamic Banking & Finance
Strong analytical and research skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Previous experience with Islamic financing products or the financial services sector (an added advantage)
