Support for Research and Development

Slovakia has taken several measures to support research and development in the field of cybersecurity. These include:

  • Creating a comprehensive concept of state support for research and development in cybersecurity
  • Allocating financial resources to support research centres at universities
  • Developing capabilities in national cryptography
  • Supporting scientific and research projects of private companies and research centres
  • Assisting entities in participating in scientific and research programmes and grants
  • Promoting national research programmes and their results

Business & Public Private Partnerships

Slovakia has also implemented measures to foster business and public-private partnerships in cybersecurity. These include:

  • Adopting a sector-specific approach in the field of cybersecurity
  • Providing support to operators of essential services and critical infrastructure in the private sector for taking appropriate security measures
  • Ensuring effective cooperation, information sharing, and expert discussion between the public and private sectors
  • Establishing a strong partnership network at national level
  • Increasing involvement in the activities of the European Cyber Security Organisation (ECSO)
  • Setting up and operating the national CSIRT network

The CYBERWISER.eu CyPR is an online platform that allows professionals to promote their specific skill sets and experiences in cybersecurity. This includes:

  • Organisations can find and contact the right skills and experiences they need to improve their IT security posture

National Computer Security Incident Response Teams

Slovakia has several CSIRT units responsible for responding to security incidents against public administration information systems and coordinating national security incident handling and response.
