Employee Hotline: Your Voice Matters

Are you aware of any illegal, unethical or questionable practices within your organization? Do you have concerns about the financial stability of the company or suspect fraud? The Bank South Pacific (BSP) Fraud and Whistleblower Policy provides a safe and confidential platform for employees to report their concerns and allegations.

Protection for Whistleblowers

We take the concerns of our employees seriously and ensure that reporting under this policy will not result in any form of reprisal or retaliation. Protection is available provided that:

  • The whistleblower has chosen to identify themselves
  • The communication/ disclosure is made in good faith
  • The whistleblower reasonably believes that information and any allegations contained in it are substantially true
  • The whistleblower is not acting for personal gain

Reporting to the Board or Regulator

If you have concerns about illegal, unethical or questionable practices, you can report them to:

  • The Chair: (a) communicate with higher levels, including the Chairman, Chairman of the Board Audit Committee or Board Risk Committee; (b) if serious prudential concerns arise, report promptly to the Bank of Papua New Guinea (BPNG).
  • BPNG: directly report any serious prudential concerns related to the Chairman or Senior Management.

Governance

Our Head of Group Operational Risk conducts an annual review of this policy to ensure it remains effective and relevant. We consider factors such as matters reported to EXCO and/or BRC, regulatory changes, industry events, and development of enhanced monitoring mechanisms.
