Banks in Cayman Islands Must Stay Compliant with Tightening Regulations
As the financial landscape continues to evolve, banks operating in the Cayman Islands are being reminded of the importance of staying compliant with an increasingly complex regulatory framework. With anti-money laundering (AML) and know-your-customer (KYC) laws becoming stricter, banks must ensure they have the necessary training and expertise to avoid costly fines and reputational damage.
Compliance Training for Banks: A Must
To help meet this challenge, the Cayman Islands Bankers’ Association has announced its Companies Administration Course, which is specifically designed to equip bank employees with the knowledge and skills needed to navigate the complex regulatory environment. The seven-week program covers key topics such as:
- Company creation
- Annual requirements
- Changes to company registers
- Financial reporting
Program Details
The course will be held every Thursday from May 16th to June 27th at the Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce, Governor’s Square, West Bay Road. Two-hour sessions will take place each week, with a final exam at the end of the program. The cost for members is KYD $500 (USD $609.76), while non-members pay KYD $600 (USD $731.71).
Expert Facilitation
The course will be facilitated by Onassia Miller, BBA, CAMS, Int. Adv. Cert. (AML), an expert in compliance and AML regulations.
