Tanzania Reaffirms Commitment to Anti-Corruption Efforts at UN Conference
Strengthening Anti-Bribery Laws and Regulations
The United Republic of Tanzania has reaffirmed its commitment to fighting corruption, highlighting significant progress made in implementing anti-bribery laws and regulations. Speaking at the 10th Session of the Conference of the States Parties to the United Nations Convention Against Corruption, Tanzania’s representative emphasized the importance of international cooperation in combating corruption.
Bilateral Cooperation and Memorandums of Understanding
Tanzania has strengthened its bilateral cooperation with other anti-corruption authorities and partners by signing memorandums of understanding (MoUs) and developing investigative and prosecutorial instruments. The country has submitted numerous mutual legal assistance requests related to corruption, money laundering, and other predicate offenses in various foreign jurisdictions.
Legislative Measures and Initiatives
In addition to strengthening its bilateral cooperation, Tanzania has taken legislative measures to enhance the fight against corruption, organized crimes, and money laundering by amending several laws and regulations. The country has also launched a number of anti-corruption initiatives aimed at preventing all forms of corruption prior to its occurrence.
Challenges and Commitment to Cooperation
Despite facing challenges in the area of mutual legal assistance, including delays in providing feedback on requests, Tanzania remains committed to continuing to cooperate and collaborate with state parties, international organizations, and other regional bodies in the fight against corruption.

Tanzania is a member of various international and regional anti-corruption organizations, including:

- Commonwealth Association of Anti-Corruption Agencies
- African Union Advisory Board on Corruption
