FIU-ICE Messages Not Accepted Due to Technical Errors
Iceland’s District Prosecutor’s Office Financial Intelligence Unit (FIU-ICE) has reported that certain reports have been unable to be accepted due to technical errors.
Causes of Rejection
According to FIU-ICE, the issues arise when institutions fail to provide all necessary information during the reporting process. This can include:
- Missing data
- Incorrect formatting
When a report is rejected, users are notified through an email and can access the message on the Message Board section of the goAML Web interface. The message will indicate the reason for rejection and what steps need to be taken to correct the issue.
Message Board
The Message Board allows users to communicate with FIU-ICE regarding any issues or concerns they may have. Users can:
- Send manual messages
- Respond to data requests from FIU-ICE
- Report goAML Web-related problems
The interface is user-friendly and allows for easy organization of messages through folders and labels. Messages are automatically deleted after 30 days, but users can manually print out or save attachments prior to deletion.
New Message Interface
When sending a new message, users are required to select the type of message from a drop-down list. This includes:
- Data requests
- goAML Web-related issues
- Manual messages
Users must also fill in the Ref. Num field with either the report ID or internal reference number provided by FIU-ICE.
Changes to Registration Information
Users can access their registration information through the My goAML section of the interface. Here, they can:
- View and update their organization’s registration details
- Change their password
Any changes made must be submitted for review by an administrator before being finalized.
Statistics
The Statistics section allows users to access various reports and data on the goAML Web interface. These can be displayed in chart or pivot table form and can be filtered by time period.
Data Cleanup
Due to the sensitive nature of the information found in reports and messages, FIU-ICE automatically deletes these after a certain time period. This includes:
- Submitted/drafted reports (14 days)
- Messages on the Message Board (30 days)
Users are advised to manually print out or save information prior to deletion.
Administrator Role
An Administrator has more access than a standard user and is responsible for managing other users within an organization. The Administrator role includes rights such as:
- Accessing statistics
- Reviewing new users
- Accepting change requests
- Abling/disabling users
By monitoring these changes, administrators can ensure that their organization’s reporting requirements are met and that any issues or concerns are addressed in a timely manner.
