Whistleblower Allegations Found to be Unsubstantiated
Investigation Reveals Lack of Evidence
In a statement released today, the Afghan Australian Development Organisation (AADO) has announced that an investigation into allegations made by a whistleblower has found no evidence to support the claims. The investigation was conducted in accordance with AADO’s Whistleblowing Policy and involved a thorough review of the matter.
Findings and Response
While the organisation acknowledges that the allegations were serious and warranted investigation, the outcome has revealed that they were unfounded. AADO’s Executive Director, Dr Nouria Salehi AM, expressed disappointment at the lack of substance behind the allegations:
“We take all whistleblower complaints seriously and invest significant resources into investigating them,” she said. “However, in this instance, our findings have shown that there was no wrongdoing or misconduct involved.”
The organisation has moved to address any negative effects on the reputation and morale of personnel involved:
“We understand that this process can be distressing for those affected, and we will work to ensure that their concerns are heard and addressed,” Dr Salehi added.
Support for Individuals Involved
AADO has committed to providing support to individuals who were named in the allegations, including offering counselling services if required. The organisation has also pledged to maintain confidentiality regarding the investigation’s findings.
Commitment to Transparency and Accountability
In a statement, AADO President Sarina Greco assured stakeholders that the organisation remains committed to upholding its values of transparency and accountability:
“We value the trust placed in us by our donors, partners, and community members,” she said. “This outcome reinforces our commitment to maintaining the highest standards of governance and integrity.”
Whistleblower Notification
The whistleblower who made the allegations has been informed of the investigation’s findings and will receive a summary of their concerns and proposed action.
Encouragement to Come Forward
AADO encourages anyone with information about alleged wrongdoing or misconduct to come forward, confident that their reports will be thoroughly investigated and addressed.
